EOM Studio in Mulranny, Co. Mayo

A little piece of heaven was awaiting me after a long journey from home! Left at 6am and arrived at the most tranquil Arts and Retreat Centre overlooking panoramic views of Clew Bay. Hostess, Cheryl Cobern Browne, who originally hails from South Africa met me with a warm welcome and inspirational presence! Cheryl is passionate about creativity, outdoor explorations and engaging with the essence of things. She has first class accommodation and caters for groups from all over the world! I just didn’t want to leave! Even Ocht, the goat pulled on my heart strings!

However the workshop must go ahead! Soon a group of ladies arrived. ‘The Gift of Hands’ ladies are a voluntary group who work creatively in the studio and their finished pieces are sold to raise money for the community. They were ready and excited about engaging in a new skill…and they soon became mesmerised, absorbed, consumed and spell bound with Paverpol! The energy in the room was palpable.

I loved being amongst them and the whole studio was awash with all their creations – paintings, sculptures, glass sculptures, kelp creations, blankets, woven creations and much, much more! Paverpol has found a wonderful home here as I’m sure we will see new ideas emerging from these ladies and their love of Paverpol.

Hope our paths will cross again in the not too distant future and Urney Creations returns to this wonderful haven!
