On March 18th Urney Creations attended the Fashion Innovation Awards 2010 in the Radisson Blu, Galway.
Patricia McCrossan, managing director of Golden Egg Productions Ltd based in Galway commissioned me to design the awards. She runs a publishing company in Galway and has 4 magazines – Galway Now, Limerick Now, Cork Now and Wedding Now.
The awards event was held to honour the work of new and innovative Irish fashion designers north and south. The judging panel included some of the most respected names in the Irish fashion industry including fashion guru Eddie Shanahan, Irish Times fashion editor Deirdre Mc Quillan and TG4’S ‘Paisean Faisean’ presenter Blathnaid, Ni Dhonnchadha. Over 33 designers showcased their creations and battled it out to win the prestigious award in their individual categories. John Rocha was a recipient of the ‘Contribution to Irish Fashion’ with his Spring/Summer collection which wowed the audience!
I was honoured to be there amongst such talent and hopefully this will open new doors for me in the design and creation of awards for all kinds of events – sport, talent, etc.
